The problem of course now is that the LPN is an integral part of all teams and perhaps worse, for the employers, the demand for the services of LPN's in many areas across the country comfortably exceeds supply.  This has meant that the average LPN salary has risen and is likely to continue to rise for some time to come.  In addition in order to attract the best candidates, employers also have to offer decent career prospects.  It is not unlikely at some point to come full circle.  Nice if you happen to be an LPN.
